Meet the Designer

Creativity has always been at the centre of my life. Growing up, I was constantly drawn to art and self-expression, and by high school I discovered textiles almost by accident after choosing it for a design project. I had never sewn before, but it came naturally to me and quickly became the medium that felt most authentic. From there, I immersed myself in fashion design, eventually graduating from FDS in 2023, where I refined my skills in pattern making, construction, and couture techniques while developing my own distinct design identity. My brand, Potamianakis, is deeply personal and an extension of who I am. Inspired by my Greek and Italian heritage, divine femininity, and the artistry of the female form, my designs celebrate sensuality, confidence, and individuality. Through slow fashion practices, made-to-order garments, and heirloom craftsmanship, I aim to create pieces that feel both provocative and timeless. Since graduating, I have showcased at Melbourne Fashion Week and the AHIA Creative Awards, while also dressing clients for red carpets, the Logies, and live performances for artists and entertainers. These experiences have been pivotal in cementing my vision and strengthening my belief in building a meaningful future in fashion.
