Meet the Designer

Phoebe Lacoste’s pathway into fashion began through a strong connection to underground music and party culture, where she became inspired by the energy of movement within crowds, human connection, and the way fashion exists within shared experiences. Growing up in Sydney, she was drawn to the relationship between clothing, emotion, nightlife, and self-expression, and the way garments can contribute to atmosphere and identity. Phoebe went on to complete a Bachelor of Design in Fashion & Textiles at the University of Technology Sydney, where she developed her design identity through textile and garment experimentation. Working with upcycled and hand-manipulated materials became an important part of her creative process, allowing her to combine sustainability with emotionally driven design. A major milestone in her journey was presenting her work with Moda last year through her collection “Archive 25” — a body of work that combined previous designs alongside newly created pieces developed specifically for the runway show. Returning for a second year marks an exciting continuation of the evolution of Phacoste through runway presentation and visual storytelling.
