SHESADESIGNER presents
Second Skin

What happened
Second Skin: The Female Complex examines the psychological cost of transformation and the tension between control and exposure. Handcrafted in Sydney, each piece — sculpted from natural latex, powermesh, and faux fur — acts as a second skin, balancing strength with softness. This debut runway collection is both intimate and raw, reclaiming space for women’s bodies in all their complexity.

SHESADESIGNER
SHESADESIGNER began by upcycling thrifted denim into unique festival outfits, which quickly evolved into a brand, a website, and the beginning of an exciting creative journey. I’ve always wanted to work for myself and have my own brand and I knew there was no better time to start. My time at UTS marked the beginning of my journey as an emerging fashion designer. Since then, I’ve worked hard to develop elevated ready-to-wear collections, with most pieces made from deadstock fabrics. Sustainability is a core value of the brand, and I’m committed to incorporating conscious design practices wherever possible. Running a business indepently is undoubtedly challenging, but my passion for what I do keeps me driven. I’m constantly striving to grow, evolve, and elevate both my brand and myself as a designer. A milestone for my brand was seeing one of my limited edition dresses, designed during my second year at uni, featured in Side-Note Magazine. It was a surreal and incredibly fulfilling moment to see my work come to life in an editorial alongside such established names in the industry. I feel inspired every day by the amazing creatives around me, and I truly can’t wait to see what the future holds for SHESADESIGNER.
